Technology program leader with 25+ years delivering large-scale systems in healthcare and enterprise IT — from Eli Lilly to Indiana University Health. Science-fiction novelist: author of Instancy, Book One of the Instancy Series.
A career spent where complex systems meet critical missions: pharmaceutical R&D, Medicare/Medicaid platforms, enterprise architecture, and — for the last decade — clinical technology across one of the largest health systems in the Midwest.
Led the $70M replacement of cardiac patient monitoring across 17 hospitals, standardizing the platform and saving ~$6.6M. Directed emergency deployment of $6M in cardiac monitors for COVID-19 patient areas. Delivered ServiceNow programs, the Epic Lumens and OpTime implementations, and a fully digital pulmonary function testing workflow that cut processing time in half.
Founded an IT consulting practice for COTS integration and systems delivery, still operating today as the home of personal technology projects. Engagements included Theoris Consulting (Pyxis MedStation rollouts across eight Community Health Network facilities; Oracle EBS and SAP programs) and Centric Consulting (enterprise architecture and a $25M interface program at DeVry University; PeopleSoft integration for three Ascension Health hospitals).
Led development of Medicare/Medicaid utilization review platforms, including a modern .NET web system and federally mandated NPI compliance across legacy systems.
Architected and supported corporate-wide Java development tooling for 1,000+ developers; built browser security protocols protecting 30,000+ employees; led technical teams of up to twelve.
The universe was never silent. We simply hadn't learned to listen.
In 2516, Aaron Cutter's rebuilt mind uncovers the truth inside the quantum correlation field: every civilization that ever spoke left its voice there, preserved across billions of years. Told as one man's private journal across thirty-six years, Instancy is first contact without invasions or armadas — quiet, humane, big-idea science fiction in the tradition of Contact and The Sparrow.
The Elder — the oldest presence in the field — has asked humanity its first question: will you stay? The species that asks becomes the species that answers.
A narrative-fiction adaptation of the novel for iOS and Android, built in Godot: read Aaron Cutter's journal, isolate coherence signatures from the field, and choose which questions to ask the civilizations you find.
learn moreThe Instancy pipeline is engineered like software: a deterministic build system that turns the manuscript into EPUB, print PDF, audiobook, and the game's story data from a single source of truth. Occasional write-ups on the blog.
